What do the Dynamo and the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde have in common?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here is a thousand words to describe what appears to be an identity crisis for the Houston Dynamo camp. Let me verbally paint a picture for you; a picture of the former MLS champions mind you.
As things stand the Houston Dynamo lie fourth in the Eastern Conference Table behind Columbus Crew sitting in third, and the Philadelphia Union and the Sporting Kansas City rounding off the top two with Sporting City claiming pole position by virtue of more goals in the 33 games played so far this season. The Dynamo's stats tell the tale of two very different Houston Dynamos. The one that steps up to the contest and defends their fort and home ground at Robertsons Stadium next to the University of Houston, and the consistently disappointing away form tying easily four times more than they win and losing three times more than they win which brings their away record to an intimidating 2 wins, 6 losses, and 9 ties. While at home they boast a record of 9 wins, 3 losses, and 4 ties. On paper it looks as if they can't find their footing or any resemblance to anything that would fall in the category of a threat or at least a nuisance while visiting adversaries venues. However one thing cannot be criticized about our Dynamo's and that is that they haven't let their luck on the road take them out of the race for a play off spot and a chance at the MLS Cup. Hopefully we will see them persevere through adversity in this last stretch of the regular season and show that those first two titles won't be the last of this great city.
I know I said a thousand words before but clearly a thousand are not needed as the Dynamo's stats show one team at home and a very different one away.
